Mother and Daughter Afternoon

For the Girls:

Virtue Skits and Games

The girls will be creating skits to highlight the virtues they have been learning about this year. Their Mentors will work with them in small groups to prepare skits to present to the moms during the afternoon. This will be followed by some fun and games.

What to bring: One prop for the skit (eg. hat, wooden spoon, scarf...) Be Creative!

Encouraging our Daughters to Live for Something Greater Than Themselves: Lessons in Magnanimity

It has been a privilege to spend time with your daughters this year and we look forward to an afternoon of celebrating and showing off a little of what they have been learning. The main purpose of our club is to support the growth in virtues that are already being taught in your homes. For this purpose we have invited Catherine Gay to speak to us on the virtue of Magnanimity.

Originally from Ottawa, Catherine moved to Calgary in 2011 to help set up Westwood Cultural Centre, a center entrusted to the Prelature of Opus Dei by West Plains Foundation. A teacher, Catherine loves working with young people and mentors with high school and university students at Westwood, collaborating in their spiritual and cultural formation. She is also involved in other initiatives of West Plains such as the Tapawingo Trails summer camp.

What to bring: Please bring a lawn chair or a picnic blanket and an empty coffee cup. The Heimberckers have generously offered to have tea and coffee available for anyone interested.
